| The pairs of opposites |

| Since man first emerged on Earth, his history has been one of conflict and strife, aggression and war. Seldom has there been a time when these tendencies have not been uppermost, until it would seem that they represent the essential nature of man. Yet, despite all evidence to the contrary, this is emphatically not the case. Why, then, does man present such a distorted image of himself? From whence comes this capacity for chaotic action and destructive violence? |
| Man is essentially a soul, a perfect reflection of God. Through countless incarnations over untold ages, man’s soul seeks to express its divine nature in time and space. Creating for itself a physical counterpart, the soul endows that with the means of evolution to its own perfection. Thus does the Plan of God work out. |
| The key to this development is aspiration. Indwelling in all men is the desire for perfection and the urge to express the good, the beautiful and the true — the attributes of the soul. No one, however faltering in action, is bereft of this desire for betterment, however expressed. In no one does this longing not exist. |
| How then to account for man’s aberrations, his violence and hate? |
| The answer lies in man’s unique position, the meeting ground of spirit and matter, and the tensions which their concurrence evokes. Man is an immortal soul, plunged in matter, subject, therefore, to the limitations which that matter imposes. His struggle for perfection involves the bringing into total union and resolution of these twin poles of his nature. |
| Through repeated incarnations, the evolutionary process gradually achieves this aim, until the quality and radiation of the matter coincides with that of spirit. The Plan is fulfilled and another Son of God has returned home. |
| For long ages, the dominance of matter precludes a major expression of the soul; evolution proceeds but slowly. When, at long last, the opposing poles of his nature are resolved, man realizes that the dichotomy is but seeming, the oppositions unreal. Then he sees that all is One, spirit and matter but two aspects of one divine Whole, the limitations of the past naught but illusion. |
| Without the struggle of opposites and the friction which ensues, man’s progress would be slow indeed. Friction is the fire which impels him on his way, aspiration the light which calls him ever upwards. Thus does man discard, in time, the limitations of matter, endowing it with the radiance of his spiritual truth. Man’s task is to spiritualize matter and to bring the substance of the planet, in every kingdom, into a perfect reflection of the Heavenly Man Whose body it is. Conflict and war, violence and hate, are but the passing manifestation of man’s inability, as yet, to demonstrate his true nature. The time is fast coming when his truth will prevail, his beauty radiate and his good demonstrate for all to see. |

| Where our leaders have failed, we will act – the Global Sumud Flotilla |
|
|
A new humanitarian effort is taking to the seas to deliver aid to Gaza. On 13 and 14 September 2025, 18 boats of the largest civilian flotilla in history, the Global Sumud Flotilla, departed from Italy, Greece and Tunisia to begin the final leg of their journey to Gaza. Their aim is to help break Israel’s illegal siege of Gaza, to open a humanitarian corridor and to deliver aid to the territory which is suffering a catastrophic famine. Dozens more boats will join them in international waters over the coming days, with more than 40 boats participating. The previous weeks saw two suspected drone attacks on flotilla vessels docked in Tunisia, as well as fuel shortages and logistical challenges that delayed the flotilla’s departure. More extensive safety planning and security measures for crew members were also necessary, due to Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir’s horrific threats on the flotilla’s passengers.

‘Sumud’ is the Arabic word for resilience or steadfastness and has been used among the Palestinian population for decades to describe the people’s response to their struggle against oppressive odds. On board the flotilla’s small and mid-sized boats are around 600 courageous ordinary people from all over the world, unaffiliated with any government or political party and comprising delegations from more than 44 countries. Organizers note that at least 26,000 signed up to join the mission. They are organizers, humanitarians, doctors, artists, clergy, journalists, lawyers, politicians and seafarers who “believe in human dignity and the power of nonviolent action”, and are united by a single truth: the siege and genocide must end. Their stated allegiance is to justice, freedom and the sanctity of human life: “Silence is not an option. The people of Gaza need us to raise our collective voices to be in solidarity even when government and institutions fail.”
[At the time this newsletter is being sent, the flotilla has been intercepted by Israeli Navy ships and many of the activists have been detained pending deportment. So although the emergency supplies are unlikely to be received by desperate Gazans, the fate of the flotilla has brought further world attention to the Israeli government's genocide and will hopefully spur further citizen and government action to bring it to an end. World’s biggest space camera fires up. The Vera Rubin Observatory in Chile has snapped the first test shots with its 3.2-gigapixel sensor (about 40,000 phone cameras stitched together). Starting later this year, it’ll scan the southern sky every three to four nights, dumping 20 terabytes of data each night and tracking roughly 20 billion galaxies, asteroids and supernovae to probe dark matter and spot risky space rocks. UK researchers have kicked off the world’s first effort to assemble full human chromosomes in the lab, using ever-bigger synthetic DNA blocks to probe how genes work and design disease-proof cells for hearts, livers and immune systems. Supporters say the “Synthetic Human Genome” could fast-track cures for incurable illnesses; critics warn the same tech might let bad actors brew designer humans or bio-weapons. BBC

Fog nets turn Chile’s Atacama Desert into a salad bowl. In Chañaral, growers are using mesh 'fog catchers' to harvest up to 1,400 litres of water daily from coastal mist, enough to raise lettuce and lemon trees in the planet’s driest desert. Researchers will publish a national fog-water map to replicate the method across arid zones, reframing atmospheric moisture as a viable irrigation source. Reuters

| Spiritualizing Matter |

Body, Mind, Spirit Expo – Raleigh, NC

|
The SI booth at the Body, Mind, Spirit Expo in Raleigh this Fall generated a lot of interest. People seemed particularly interested in this message of hope and appreciated the information about the Piscean Age ending and the Aquarium Age beginning and that it explained many of the divisions in the world. There were no other booths with our sort of message. The Hand card was very popular and people were grateful to be able to have one (or two) to take with them along with various postcards and brochures. They were surprised and appreciative that our information was free. People seemed particularly drawn to the booth banner and even if they didn’t stop to talk, they read it as they passed by. –ME

Central Avenue Jazz Festival – LA
|

|
Share International volunteers were kept busy at the Central Avenue Jazz Festival, one of our best events of the year. Visitors from all over LA come to hear good music, and the colorful booth attracted many people for an explanation of “what is this all about?” One woman asked, “How do you know that this is true?” and “How is this not like a religion where faith is required?” What ensued were longer than usual conversations, with co-workers pointing out the photographic display and our own experiences as evidence of unusual occurrences surrounding the story of Maitreya’s presence in the world and of His imminent emergence. We also talked about Transmission Meditation and Maitreya’s Hand as ways to participate in the energies.

This year, many people seemed to agree that world changes are happening at a faster pace, and that some kind of change is needed. To them, the story of the reappearance, and how it relates to current events, brought a sense of hope and joy.
|
|
Because of the level of chaos in current events, many affected people were somewhat more open to the information that day. One person was moved enough to say, “You made my day.” –YL & AM

International Day of Peace – Dallas, TX
|
|
|
In conjunction with the United Nations-sanctioned holiday of the International Day of Peace, co-workers in Dallas celebrated the holiday on Saturday, September 20th by standing on the corner of a busy intersection in the heart of the city and holding signs proclaiming that Peace is the hope for humanity's future. One sign asked, “How do you think we will achieve peace?” Another sign stated, “Another world is possible.” It was an exciting and worthwhile effort. One co-worker observed, “So many drivers gave us the peace sign or thumbs-up or honked their horns after seeing our signs. The numbers surprised us and we think signaled that people are ready for change!”–KP

New York Film Showing

The New York area group conducted a public video screening of a Benjamin Creme lecture. For our presentation, we rented one of the theaters at the Cinema Arts Centre, a community cinema in Huntington, NY that presents international and independent films.
|
|
The video selected for viewing was an edited talk given by Mr. Creme in New York City in 2010. Entitled “Benjamin Creme on the State of the World”, it focused on social, political and economic issues from the perspective of the Ageless Wisdom Teaching as viewed by Maitreya and the Masters of Wisdom.
